How to use Hendricks as a Supplier
We will go through all details required for setting up a new supplier account on Hendricks. You can either book a demo, or onboard on your own - completely your choice.
Let's start by defining some terminology. There are two roles in a trading relationship: retailers and suppliers. As you probably assumed, a supplier is providing the good to the retailer to be sold to a future customer. Suppliers can sync their products into Hendricks, price them for the retailer and be available for the retailer to sync into their store or product information management (PIM) system.
If you are actually a retailer, check out this guide.
Hendricks exists to help onboard you as quickly and effectively as possible with retailers. We try to act as the translation layer between modern platforms (such as Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) and older systems (such as EDI).
Platform
The first step is understand how we are going to connect to your existing systems. We have two approaches: pre-built integrations, or API. In terms of pre-built integrations, we support:
- Shopify
- WooCommerce (Private Beta)
- Big Commerce (Private Beta)
- Wix (Private Beta)
- Square (Private Beta)
- Lightspeed POS (Private Beta)
- Prestashop (Private Beta)
- Adobe Commerce (Magento) (Private Beta)
- Squarespace (Private Beta)
If we are missing an integration, lets us know and we are sure we would be willing to add it. Otherwise, we can help guide on how to build something custom using our API.
If the retailer is using EDI, we actually go through the EDI onboaring process with you and handle all things EDI. Reach out to our team (hello@hendricks.so
) and we can get you started. You can still set up your account, sync products and set prices.
Onboarding
Start by signing up for a new account. Enter your name, email and password. The password must have 2 non-letter characters (Not A-Z). This is to ensure that your account is secure. We will send you a confirmation email to verify your email address. Click the link in the email to verify your email address.
Once signed in, you will be redirected to create a new organization. Enter your organization details.
Once you've completed the sign up, you will be redirected into the onboarding flow. Follow the instructions on each of the pages. The first step will ask more about your use case. This is to help us understand how to best support you.
Next, you will be prompted to select a plan. Select the one that matches your needs the most. You can always set your account up with the basic plan and upgrade once ready. Only if you receive orders will there be a cost.
Next, you will be able to instal any apps that makes sense for you. This is how you connect your existing systems to Hendricks. If you don't see your system, you can always connect using our API, or EDI. Otherwise, please reach out and we can assist.
You will be redirected to set up each app individually. Follow the instructions on each page. Once completed, you can begin to invite suppliers.
This can always been done in the future as well. Follow the remaining onboarding steps, but for the most part you are ready to start using Hendricks.
